New in NIM 2.5¶
NIM 2.5 includes major updates to the strength of security and permissions, enhanced features and a greater level of customization you can apply to your production. The highlights of this release are listed below. Please see the full release notes for all additions and bug fixes.

API¶
API Keys have been added as an optional requirement to be used when SSL/HTTPS encryption is enabled on the VM. API Keys will restrict access to the API to permitted users, have an expiration date and respect security groups access.
Special Render API Key to allow privileged access to all jobs to log renders, elements, and upload dailies
Added (HTTP/Python) calls to retrieve dailies information and upload dailies notes.
getShotInfo now returns all shot information
New Python function add_render()

Custom Fields¶
Security groups can now be applied to custom fields
Added ability to mark custom dropdown options as default. This will auto-select the option when creating a new item with the field.
Dailies¶
Updated dailies to handle more formats upon upload
Refreshed dailies UI elements for easier readability and use.
Dashboard¶
Added pagination for all dashboard tabs
Elements¶
Support for custom application links to directly load full resolution elements in 3rd party software.
Job Config¶
Updated Job Config UI to include tabs for better output visibility, task sectioning
Added a new Offline items section to help resolve objects that can not be brought online due to variable requirements.
Added the ability to customize the job folder creation php script.
Jobs¶
Show and Sequence labels can be customized in the browser UI
Project Structures¶
Project structures can now be copied.
Variable based project structures can now be created which allow for folders to be generated that read information directly from the job, asset, or shot. This provides for a granular level or organization dependent upon the object itself.
Renders¶
Option to manually add elements and dailies to a render.
Resources¶
Keywords have been added to resources as well as a keyword filter on the Scheduler resource page.
Scheduling¶
Rollover tooltips
Right click context menus which provide quick access to edit, copy, delete, and go to associated job functions.
Default options for Work Day Start/End times as well as Day View Interval.
Scheduler resource and user pagination to speed up large data sets
Security¶
HTTPS/SSL security for all NIM VM traffic. This is optional and allows fully encrypted, permission controlled communication to the server for both browser and connector access.
Security Groups allow specific access to be granted on a per object basis. These can be applied to users, links, jobs, assets, and shots. If require API Keys is enabled the NIM API will respect the security group for the given individual.
Optional flag to hide crew on the job overview and hide the production/crew page.
Per job permission overrides allow crew members to have elevated or diminished permissions on a per job basis.
Tasks¶
A studio wide task view has been added to the STUDIO section of the main menu. This view displays all tasks for all jobs in a job centric gantt view.
Timecards¶
Optional Time In / Time Out & Break Hours method of time entry
New timecard approval section with 4 stage approval process and email notification

Custom links have been added under a LINKS option in the main menu.
