New in NIM 2.7

NIM 2.7 a feature-rich update that enables increased flexibility over time management as well as numerous performance and infrastructure updates. The update equips teams with greater control over timecard functionality and logging time, enabling producers to better manage staff’s time and deliver projects to even the most pressing deadlines with total efficiency.

Timecards

  • Timecard Days – This new section provides a bird’s-eye view over user hours across all jobs, giving an at-a-glance perspective on users who may be going into overtime (OT) or double time (DT).

  • Modify RT/OT/DT per timecard RT OT DT – OT and DT hours can now be directly allocated to specific timecards. Crew rate rules will still determine the initial OT / DT allocation, but users are free to modify these values on a case-by-case basis.

  • New timecard UI design – The timecard user interface has been updated to a more streamlined layout with more consistent functionality across all timecard views.

Tasks

  • Estimated task timeNIM 2.7 allows users to set estimated time on tasks. This estimated time is actualized against timecards entered for that task and visualized on the Task Gantt chart, giving users a visual representation of how much time each task requires.

  • Task throughput & burn rates – The Task Gantt chart now visualizes task throughput and burn rates based on estimated task time.

Connectors

  • Flame connector – The Flame connector provides integration with NIM from within Flame or Flare to create published shots in NIM, add exported elements to NIM shots, export mov’s to NIM dailies and edits, and roundtrip NIM elements back to the Flame timeline and batchFX.
